1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and Compliance College Ltd ("Compliance College", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England & Wales.

By accessing or using our website and learning platform (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Platform.

These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which also govern your use of the Platform.

2. Definitions

Throughout these Terms, the following definitions apply:

  • "Platform" — The Compliance College website, learning management system, and all related tools and services
  • "User" — Any individual who accesses the Platform, including learners, company administrators, and visitors
  • "Course" — Any training programme, module, or learning resource available on the Platform
  • "Certificate" — A document issued by Compliance College or an awarding body upon successful completion of a Course
  • "Centre" — An approved training centre partner delivering courses through the Platform
  • "Company Account" — A business account that enables organisations to manage multiple learners

3. Account Registration

To access courses and learning features, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to the following:

  • You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account
  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or violate these Terms.

4. Course Enrolment & Access

When you enrol on a course, the following conditions apply:

  • Access period — You will have access to course materials for 12 months from the date of enrolment, unless otherwise stated on the course page
  • Course delivery — Courses are delivered online through our Platform. Some courses may include live sessions, in-person assessments, or blended learning components
  • System requirements — You are responsible for ensuring your device and internet connection meet the minimum requirements for accessing course content
  • Availability — While we aim for 99.5% uptime, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may schedule maintenance periods

Access to a course is personal to the enrolled User and may not be transferred to another individual.

5. Pricing & Payment

All course prices are displayed on the Platform and are subject to the following terms:

  • All prices are quoted in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and are exclusive of VAT
  • VAT is charged at the prevailing UK rate (currently 20%) and will be added at checkout
  • Payment methods accepted: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and PayPal
  • Invoice payments: Available for orders of £500 or more, with 30-day payment terms, subject to credit approval
  • We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but changes will not affect existing enrolments

Payment is due at the time of enrolment unless invoice terms have been agreed. Course access will not be granted until payment is received or invoice terms are confirmed.

6. Refund Policy

  Important: Refund eligibility depends on your course progress. Please review the conditions below carefully before requesting a refund.

Our refund policy is as follows:

  • 14-day money-back guarantee — If you request a refund within 14 days of enrolment and have completed less than 25% of the course content, you are entitled to a full refund
  • Completed courses — No refund is available for courses that have been completed or where you have received a pass result
  • Examination fees — Fees paid for external examinations (e.g., NEBOSH exams) are non-refundable once the exam has been booked with the awarding body
  • Company accounts — Refunds for bulk enrolments are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact your account manager

To request a refund, email support@compliancecollege.co.uk with your order reference number. Approved refunds will be processed within 10 working days to the original payment method.

7. Certificates

Upon successful completion of a course, certificates are subject to the following terms:

  • Certificates are issued digitally and can be downloaded from your learner dashboard
  • Each certificate includes a unique verification ID that can be validated through our public verification portal
  • Replacement certificates can be issued for a fee of £15 per certificate
  • Certificate validity periods vary by course and awarding body. Specific validity information is detailed on each course page
  • Certificates for externally accredited courses (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are issued by the relevant awarding body and are subject to their own terms

Compliance College is not responsible for the recognition of certificates by third-party employers or regulatory bodies.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform, including but not limited to course materials, videos, assessments, text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Compliance College Ltd or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or redistribute any course materials
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works from our content
  • Use our materials for commercial purposes without written permission
  • Remove any copyright or proprietary notices from our content

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access course materials for your personal learning purposes only, for the duration of your enrolment.

9. Acceptable Use

When using the Platform, you agree to the following rules of conduct:

  • You must not share your login credentials with any other person
  • You must not record, screenshot, or copy course content in any format
  • You must not use automated tools or bots to access the Platform
  • You must not engage in cheating, plagiarism, or any form of academic dishonesty during assessments
  • You must not upload harmful content, malware, or engage in activities that disrupt the Platform
  • You must not impersonate another user or misrepresent your identity

Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, forfeiture of course access, and revocation of certificates where applicable.

10. Company Accounts

If you register for a Company Account, the following additional terms apply:

  • Administrator responsibilities — The designated administrator is responsible for managing user accounts, allocating courses, and ensuring compliance with these Terms
  • Multi-user management — Company Accounts allow the administrator to add, remove, and manage learners within their organisation
  • Volume licensing — Discounted pricing may be available for bulk enrolments. Contact our sales team for a quotation
  • Reporting — Company administrators receive access to compliance dashboards and learner progress reports
  • Data processing — Where a Company Account includes employee data, a Data Processing Agreement may be required

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Compliance College shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific course or service giving rise to the claim
  • We do not guarantee that completion of a course will result in employment, promotion, or regulatory compliance for your specific circumstances
  • We are not liable for any interruption or unavailability of the Platform due to factors beyond our reasonable control

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Termination

Either party may terminate the agreement as follows:

  • By you — You may close your account at any time by contacting our support team. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund for active enrolments
  • By us — We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the breach

Upon termination:

  • Your access to courses and the Platform will be revoked
  • Certificates already issued will remain valid and verifiable
  • We will retain your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy retention schedule

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England & Wales.

Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
